This immersive experience combines golden rural landscapes, expansive skies, and one of Australia’s most recognisable country photography locations — Superman’s Barn on the Liverpool Plains.

Canola Fields, Big Skies & Classic Australian Landscapes
Each day is carefully planned around the best available light to maximise photographic opportunities across the Merriwa region and Liverpool Plains.
During the workshop, you’ll photograph:
Rolling canola fields at sunrise and sunset
Layered rural hills and misty farmland
Leading lines through quiet country roads
Minimalist landscape compositions
Superman’s Barn at sunset – a signature shoot location
With a maximum of six participants, you’ll receive personalised guidance from an experienced landscape photographer, ensuring plenty of time for composition, camera setup, and creative exploration.
Superman’s Barn – Signature Photography Session
A highlight of this landscape photography tour is a dedicated session at the iconic Superman’s Barn, located near Breeza on the Liverpool Plains.
This distinctive rural structure offers powerful visual storytelling opportunities, particularly in late afternoon and sunset light.
You’ll have the opportunity to capture:
Dramatic silhouettes against expansive skies
Strong leading lines and open farmland compositions
Classic Australian rural imagery
Optional astrophotography (conditions permitting)
Access to this location is limited, making it a memorable and unique addition to the workshop experience.
Location – Merriwa & Liverpool Plains, NSW
Based in Merriwa, NSW, this workshop is centred in one of Australia’s most photographed canola field regions, renowned for its colour, scale, and seasonal beauty.
We also travel to Breeza and the Liverpool Plains to photograph Superman’s Barn and surrounding rural landscapes.
Each day is structured to align with optimal light:
Sunrise photography sessions in the canola fields
Midday rest periods with optional learning discussions
Afternoon location scouting
Sunset photography in carefully selected paddocks
Plans are adjusted as required to suit weather and light conditions, ensuring you are always photographed in the best possible locations.
